How it’s made

The Corset Knit Dress is made in The Netherlands by Demi van Ginkel in our own studio. Everything you see at Midheavens has been made and designed at our studio. From pattern cutting, sample developing to making the final pieces, we can make sure everything is done ethically by controlling it in our studio.

Materials and fabrics

The Corset Knit Dress is either made from a rib tricot fabric or a soft knit fabric

Rib Tricot

  • 95% cotton, 5% elastan

Black fabric with a smooth, textured surface, twisted into a spiral pattern.

Soft Knit

  • 50%VI / 30%PL / 20%PA

Close-up of red fabric twisted in a spiral pattern.

These materials were chosen because of the soft, non itchy feel on the skin and their warmth for in the fall and winter. They are soft, stretchy and easy to take care of, making them comfortable to wear for our women with tummy problems.

Care and longevity

Wash instructions:

  • Wash in a laundry bag

  • Max 30 degrees

  • Gentle wash cycle

  • Lay or hang to dry

You don’t need to wash your item after every wear, washing less extends the life of your garment and uses less water. Refresh with a special spray or hang outside!

Time and process

  • We need 2.5 meters of fabric for this dress

  • It takes 3 hours to make this dress, from pattern cutting to finishing touches. Depending on if you chose the option free made to measure and if you want any adjustments to the pattern, it may take longer

We have a production time from 2-5 weeks, this way we always have enough time to process the free made to measure option and any adjustments you may want on the dress that requires a different pattern that we make just for you.
